HOLOTROPIC BREATHWORK IN A NUTSHEL
What is holotropic breathwork?
Holotropic breathwork is a variety of holotropic works which are methods for self-exploration, personal transformation, and healing in general.
Holotropic breathwork includes:
Set and setting:
safe, supportive and caring environment,
100 % support and safety during the non-ordinary state (holotropic) journey,
focused energy release work (bodywork) if necessary for satisfactory conclusion of holotropic experience and
carefully guided the integration of holotropic experience,
guidelines for further integration activities after the workshop and support after the workshop.
Holotropic means moving towards wholeness - a search most of us undertake, in our own unique way, for a large part of life.
Holotropic breathwork, developed by Stan and Christina Grof, has proven to be one of the most powerful ways of engaging in this process, facilitating a deep inner process which leads to openness, and an expansion of consciousness. This, in turn, opens us to healing and to wisdom which lies beyond the ego.
“People wonder at the height of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of rivers, at the vast compass of the oceans, at the circular motion of the stars; and they pass by themselves without wondering” St. Augustine
